Computer network security

Computer network security is a subject that gives rise to concern among network owners and users. It’s not enough that computers are inherently vulnerable to Trojans and viruses, now networks can be penetrated by hackers too for either fun or malicious reasons. Protecting your network is an essential responsibility and there are thankfully many uncomplicated ways to do that now
Security Risks Briefly Described
There are many risks in a computer network, and most of them are consequences of ignorantly exposed virtual gateways for hackers. Some of them are described below
  1. Operating a network can provide unethical persons a way to request or retrieve a file or resource they aren’t authorized to access. If a hacker can subtly gain access to your network as an apparent user, they’ll be able to retrieve any file or information allowable for viewing by users. The main problem lies in the fact that certain information accessed by users must not get into the hands of a hacker. In the event that the resources a hacker needs are confined within the admin dashboard, all he has to do is find a way to get admin privileges within the network
  2. Another computer network security risk is the hacking of an inadequately protected user’s account that can reveal a lot of damaging information. A hacker can also execute his malicious plan for the sole purpose of deleting information and databases within a network
  3. Falsification of data, e.g. acct. numbers in banks, is another computer network security risk. A hacker can get unauthorized access to a network in order to put stored data and information into a flawed state
  4. DOS attacks are also dreadful for network owners, and solving the problems that follow is more complicated beyond acceptability than other risks
The description of computer network risks above isn’t thorough, and it’s definitely advisable to acquaint yourself with other risks (emphasis should be placed on the most dangerous) – It’s the very first measure you can take to protect your network
How to Protect a Computer Network
  1. Beware of the kind of software you install: Free pieces of software are distinctly suitable candidates for criticism because it’s hard to find a paid piece of software that is malicious in some way. Before installing free software, take some time to read or just scan through those extensive terms you usually ignore, and do it leisurely if possible. Harmful software can come in the form of malware, adware, and spyware
  2. Back up your files: Backing up files and other data is an effortless job. Nevertheless, it’s one of the simple tasks that still face neglect today. One of the best ways to render a hacker’s infiltration fruitless or insignificant (if the hacker’s sole intent was to delete stored data and information) is to have a backup of your files
  3. Use stronger security systems: Don’t use systems that can be circumvented or disabled from a single point of entry. Use systems that have many distinct layers of protection incorporated into them. Some superfluity in this aspect is good
  4. Keep abreast of computer network security issues: You can also hire an employee for this specific task
  5. Use the latest versions of all software in use, including your system software or operating system
  6. Make use of firewalls and a VPN
Computer network security will always be a huge topic as long as security holes remain unmended, and new holes usually appear as old ones are fixed. Security should invariably be your top priority if you want to avoid the adverse consequences that accompany security breaches.’
First of all, let’s know the term peripheral. It is a device that connected to computer. It expands the computer’s capability. Mostly it is dependent partially or entirely on the computer.
Such devices include hard drive, expansion cards, graphic cards, loudspeakers, digital cameras, computer mouse, keyboard, printers, tape drives, microphones and web cams. RAM (Random Access Memory) is storage peripheral and is essential for the effective functionality of all computers. Without it computer cannot be work.
Devices such as smart phones and tablet computers can be used as peripherals due to their interfaces. As some peripherals they do not entirely depend on the host computer. The CPU (Central Processing Unit), power supply, motherboard and computer case is the only parts of computer that are not considered as peripheral.

Peripherals are of three types, they are output, storage and input.
For inputting data in computer input peripherals are used like a mouse or a keyboard. Output peripherals are used to give output to the person using the computer. They include printers, computer monitor and speakers. Hard drives and flash drives are the storage peripherals used for storage data.
Performance of computer is surely improved by the peripherals and more details are also given by it. Before purchasing any peripherals you should know that your computer will support it or not.
Make sure to check the connection most specially those involving cards and also make sure that the wires are in order. If you have difficulties in booting system then you have to re install the peripherals. If it break down then it’s very easy to replace with new one.

Hence we see people using internet in their computers, Laptops, mobile phones etc. Now, when we talk about computer peripherals it basically means the different parts or accessories of the computer. The peripherals of computer all together make it a productive machine.
The computer peripherals basically constitutes of the keyboard, mouse, c. p.u, web cam, printer, speakers etc. a computer can be utilized fully only with the help of these peripherals in short with the absence of peripherals a computer is just useless. People usually buy computer peripherals by considering the use. Buying all the computer peripherals is not necessary so people generally buy those peripherals which are of their use. The peripherals of a computer are not usually form the same companies as people buy all the peripherals differently by looking at the brand. Many a times it so happens that people fall into a dilemma whether they should buy a peripheral or not in such cases one must thoroughly think over it and then go about buying that peripheral because buying a peripheral which is not going to be of any use is total waste of money. So, one must do good planning before buying computer peripherals.
The main peripherals of a computer would be a keyboard mouse and a CPU apart from these there is some peripherals which people now a days wish to have other peripherals like web cam for chatting purposes and printer for printing important documents. Whenever a person goes about buying these peripherals he must do good research and opt for a good brand which will offer you good peripherals so that you can work easily. Computer software is, by definition, a series of instructions and/or data that the computer system will execute in a predetermined sequence. Computer software packages come in many different styles and types. This virtual plethora of software come in many forms: games, web browsers, chat programs, office applications, and specialty software packages. Despite the number of variations computing software comes in, in essence all the same to the computer: data in, input, and data out.
It is much easier to break down software into four primary groups: productivity, programming, entertainment, and common computing functions.
Productivity would be the label for many software packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, and so on. This particular variety of computer software is designed for use in a wide array of environments and by users with varying skills and interest sets. There are off the shelf productivity computer software packages and there are custom made applications designed for very specific tasks.
Programming languages are what software developers use to create computer software, though they are in and of themselves pieces of software too. Programming languages from BASIC to C++ and JAVA are all very common and there is a clear delineation between pre-compiled languages such as C++ and many run-time compiled languages such as many variants of BASIC. The distinction is that C++ typically is used to write a program, then transform that human readable code into a language directly readable by the computer system. Many forms of BASIC on the other hand create a token or intermediary file which requires the assistance of a run-time engine to compile it on the fly.
A recent trend in computing languages is the development of platform agnostic computer software packages. JAVA as a prime example of a
language that has led this particular charge with their ‘write once, run it on any platform’ approach. Platform agnostic computer software will run on many different platforms, but they tend to be less efficient than compiled computer software.
Entertainment software takes many forms, but games are usually what one thinks of when discussing the topic of computer software designed to entertain. The latest games are almost all following trends of internet connectivity for multiplayer purposes (some genres even require this) and ever more realistic 3D graphics.
There are also an incredibly large number of software applications that do not necessarily fall into any of the above categories. For example: instant messenger programs and e-mail programs can be considered productivity, but they can also be used for the purposes of entertainment. Anti-virus software is another program which virtually every modern computer should be using, but yet it is not easily categorized since its utility lies in prevention and protection rather than tangible usage qualities. Therefore, the definition for computer software for common tasks would be just that: it must be common to a broad section of computing needs, and does not necessarily have to be actively used.
Software can either be professionally developed for profit, or public works that are typically free. This is generally referred to as freeware or open-source if the code is available for public editing.
If you want any type of computer software you should contact Syscare computers. They offer all types of software which you want in affordable price.
Computer hardware is a device that is related to computers, and it is in a physical form. Keyboards, mouse and monitors are examples of computer hardware that we can touch. In contrast, computer software such as Windows operating system is not considered hardware because it does not have any physical form, nor we can touch it.
Examples
This hardware is not only found in personal computers, but the term can be attributed to anything physical which forms part of a larger computer system or network. Nevertheless, computer hardware found in modern personal computers include monitor, motherboard, CPU, RAM memory, expansion cards, power supply, optical disc drive, hard disk, keyboard and mouse. All of these components of a computer have physical form, and anyone can touch them. For example, if someone has bought Microsoft Office disc to install MS Word on their personal computer then it can be stated that the disc is a type of hardware because it has a physical form. In contrast, application stored inside that disc e.g. Microsoft Word is not hardware because it only exists in a digital format, and does not have any physical aspect.
New Type of Computer Hardware
Similarly, removable media devices such as CD-ROM drive and CD-W are some common types of this hardware which are used to store data, and large files. Nowadays, USB flash drives are becoming much more common, and they are quickly replacing CD-ROM as preferred hardware to store temporary data. In near future, other PC hardware called solid state drive will replace hard drives because it contains no moving part, and takes much less space. Thus, hard drives, USB flash drives and solid state drives are some other examples of computer hardware.
PC Hardware or Hardware: What’s the Difference?
Hardware is a term used for physical objects of technology such as personal computer, but terms like hardware and computer hardware are also synonymous. Therefore, it is not uncommon to use terms like hardware and PC hardware, interchangeably. For example, a CPU can be called either hardware or computer hardware. Usually, anything physical related to computers is called PC hardware. Otherwise, objects such as keys, locks, door handles, electric wires, cutting tools, cutlery, machine and most things made of metal are generally known as hardware, and found in hardware stores.
This is the brief information about computer hardware, now you are clear about what is compute hardware and its types. And you also see the difference between computer hardware and software.
